7th September, 2019 Beachy Head Overcast with a cold N wind force 4

A cold start with a cool strong N wind, we covered Shooters Bottom, the Old Trapping Area, radio mast bushes, Hotel Garden, Icky Ridge, and Belle Tout wood. A small fall of Chiffchaffs on the Headland, also 3 Spotted Flycatchers, but otherwise just low numbers of other migrants. Little evidence of any diurnal migration with just 33 Sand Martins E. LP briefly visited the Headland.
RE and MB were ringing in Whitbread Hollow, they also had a small fall of Chiffchaffs, also good numbers of Blackcaps, 1 Pied Flycatcher and 1 Firecrest with reasonable numbers of common migrants.
