13th September, 2014 Beachy Head

Yet another beautiful Autumnal day with a force 3 NE breeze. Visited Beachy with David and Brenda and although the area was fairly quiet for night migrants we had an enjoyable walk covering all the main sites. Good numbers of House Martins were coasting East also Meadow Pipits and Yellow Wagtails in smaller numbers. Reasonable selection of migrants were seen including 3 Grasshopper Warblers, 2 Whinchats, 7 Wheatears, 1 female Common Redstart and best of all a fine Firecrest which showed at close range in sunlight.
