11th October, 2020 Beachy Head Cloudy periods otherwise fine and sunny. NW 2

 RE and 3 members of the BHRG were ringing in Whitbread Hollow, and SL walked from Michael Dene to Hotel Garden and back, between 08.00 to 13.15 hrs. Another good arrival of Chiffchaffs chiefly in Whitbread Hollow also 2 Dartford Warblers on the Headland, the Lapland Bunting was still showing in the same area. Small numbers of diurnal migrants were moving W with a surprise of an immature Spoonbill passed over high up going W over Shooters Bottom at 10.26.

Butterflies: Clouded Yellow 2, Wall Brown2, Comma 1, Common Blue 4.

On the 10th October, 2 Ring Ouzels in Shooters Bottom and a Lesser Whitethroat had been photographed in Shooters Bottom by a visitor which LP had seen the photograph and he considered it to be a "Blyth's" Eastern type.
