13th February, 2019 Beachy Head Light overcast, cool SSW 2 increasing to 3

We sea-watched from 07.25-09.00. Very little Auk activity after the good numbers seen during the last two days, but still reasonable numbers of Red-throated Divers and several small parties of Brent Geese moving. We later covered Shooters Bottom and also met up with LP who had covered the Birling loop and the Birling area.

Red-throated Diver  50 (45 E, 1W 4 on the sea)
Great-crested Grebe 6 on the sea
Gannet 45 (15 E and 30 feeding off Birling)

Peregrine 1 male over Shooters Bottom attacking 2 Ravens

Mediterranean Gull 5 E (2 were in s/p)

Auk Sp. 115 (75 E and 40 on the sea, only Razorbills were i/d)

Linnet 30 set-aside field

Late news from yesterday, LP during the evening had a Short-eared Owl near the Hotel Garden and heard 2 Tawny Owls calling.
