21st October, 2018 Beachy Head Fine sunny warm NW 1

My brother Barry is staying with us from America, and we visited Beachy just like the 1960's, except more disturbance and far fewer birds. We covered Toilet block bushes, Hotel Garden, Icky Ridge, Old Trapping Area, Shooters Bottom, Belle Tout wood and we called in to see Roger and Liz in Hodcombe. RE was again ringing in Whitbread Hollow. The Headland was very quiet although the Hollow had a reasonable fall of Chiffchaffs and Goldcrests. Other than 400 Wood Pigeons very little visible migration was seen.
Combined totals:

Sparrowhawk 2 Headland
Kestrel 2 Headland
Stock Dove 2 with Wood Pigeons
Wood Pigeon 400 over Headland
Tawny Owl 1 Headland
Green Woodpecker 1 Hollow
Rock Pipit 2 Headland
Pied Wagtail 14 (6E)
Blackbird 20 Headland
Song Thrush 8 Headland
Blackcap 5 Hollow
Chiffchaff 44 (40 Hollow and 4 Headland)
Goldcrest 42 (30 Hollow and 12 Headland)
Brambling 1 Headland
Goldfinch 50 Headland

Another fine sun-rise over Beachy

Nice to see Goldcrests moving through the area.
