25th August, 2018 Beachy Head Fine and sunny cool at first becoming warm. NW 1-2

Doreen and myself decided to take it fairly easy this morning. We covered Birling lane and scrub, Belle Tout wood and scrub and then called into Hodcombe to see Roger and Liz. CB walked the Birling to Belle Tout loop and visited the Hotel Garden and ARK visited Crowlink. RE was again ringing and watching in Whitbread Hollow. LP was again working the Headland sites
Fairly low numbers of night migrants in the areas we visited and RE found it similar in the Hollow with the strong sunlight again hampering ringing although a fine Wood Warbler trapped was the highlight. It was interesting to have sightings from Crowlink an area not often visited these days.
Still virtually no hirundines moving and just the odd Yellow Wagtail seen. The Melodious was again present and a Pied Flycatcher nearby.
