13th March,2016 Beachy Head Overcast becoming sunny,hazy out to sea cold NE 3-4

Much colder day with a stronger NE wind. We sea-watched from 07.15-08.00 and although no real movement recorded the highlight was a superb party of 7 Avocets. Very few migrants logged as we covered Birling lane Birling loop and Belle Tout wood with a Black Redstart in the Birling car park with the White Wagtail again present.
Bob Edgar flushed an Owl at the bottom of Birling lane. He only saw it briefly and kindly contacted us and although we made a search for it, we were unable to re-locate it.
