23rd June, 2010 Beachy Head
Visited Beachy this morning with Doreen. Very few birds seen, but some nice orchids and butterflies: 40 Bee Orchids including pale varieties, Pyramidal orchids and 1 Lizard Orchard. Butterflies seen included 2 Dark Green Fritilliaries, both Large and Small Skippers, 1 Dingy Skipper, 1 Painted Lady also Meadow Browns etc.
22nd June, 2010 Wolstonbury Hill
An evening visit to Wolstonbury Hill with Doreen and David going onto the lower slope from the riding stables. Fair numbers of Spotted Orchids and about 20 Fragrant Orchids found.

22nd June, 2010 Cuckmere
Went with David for a second look at the Cuckmere Red Footed Falcon in brilliant early morning light. We also had a pair of Ravens.

20th June, 2010 Cuckmere
Went with Doreen and David to see the male Red Footed Falcon which had been found in the Cuckmere Valley. Also saw 2 Little Egrets.

19th June, 2010 Burton Mill Pond & Kithurst Hill
Went out with Doreen, Terry & David. We first visited Burton Mill Pond and walked the forest trail to Chingford Pond and back, we then drove to Kithurst Hill.





















Following orchids were seen: Good numbers of Southern Marsh Orchids at Burton Mill. Spotted Orchids, & 1 Musk Orchid at Kithurst also a few Twayblades and 1 Pyramidal Orchid.
Also several Meadow Browns, 2 Small Blues & 3 Large Skippers all at Kithurst.
Birds seen: 2 Red Kites and several Common Buzzards from Burton Mill and heard Cuckoo and Reed Warbler.
