28th September, 2019 Beachy Head Overcast with sunny periods, WSW 6-7

After several days of unsettled windy weather, we decided to try a sea-watch from 07.50-08.50 and then visited Shooters Bottom and Belle Tout wood, where we met up with AR. who had covered most of the Headland sites. RJF also spent 6 hours walking, covering Shooters Bottom, Old Trapping Area, Hotel Garden, Cliff Path, Francis Bottom, Cow Gap and the Gully and beach area, Whitbread Hollow, the Rides, and Belle Tout wood.
Very little seen on the sea-watch, still reasonable numbers of Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs with a single Grasshopper Warbler and 2 Firecrests. Diurnal Migration was just small numbers of hirundines although Meadow Pipits were more in evidence in the area.
