16th September, 2019 Beachy Head Overcast becoming sunny and warm WNW 1

We covered Birling lane, Shooters Bottom and valley opposite, Old Trapping Area. LP covered several Headland sites and RE was ringing in Whitbread Hollow. Good numbers of Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs were again present in the Hollow, but just small numbers of night migrants seen on the Headland which included a Pied Flycatcher. Huge numbers of House Martins were present along the cliffs during the first 2 hours between Birling and Icky Ridge with an estimate of 5,000 + birds.
