2nd July, 2019 Beachy Head Early morning cool N wind becoming hot and sunny N 2-3

We went straight to Shooters Bottom and then covered Old Trapping Area, Radio mast bushes, Icky Ridge, and Belle Tout wood. Fair numbers of Common Whitethroats present in the areas covered but the highlight was a calling Nightingale which showed briefly on several occasions. Good numbers of common butterflies present and 2 excellent White-lettered Hairstreaks performed well low down.

Doreen found 2 excellent White-lettered Hairstreaks
feeding low down at the usual site.
