KG did an evening sea-watch from 16.30-18.30 and recorded the following:
Red-throated Diver 6 E, Gannet 306 E, Arctic Skua 11 E, Common Scoter 19 E, Comic Tern 16 E, Sandwich Tern 42 E,
7th April, 2019.
KG sea-watched from 06.30-08.00 and recorded the following:
Red-throated Diver 5 E, Gannet 40 E, Common Scoter 16 E, Arctic Skua 2 E, Sandwich Tern 5 E.
LP visited the Headland during the morning and it was very quiet for migrants but our first Yellow Wagtail for the year flew over and 2 Sand Martins were also seen.
8th April, 2019
LP and JP covered virtually all the sites on the Headland and spent 9 hours birding on the Headland, RE covered Birling lane, Cornish Farm and track, Belle Tout wood and scrub, and RAB covered Shooters Bottom, Belle Tout wood and the track to Birling. A good fall of migrants chiefly Willow Warblers but also our first Ring Ouzels, Redstarts, Common Whitethroat and Brambling for the year.
RHC also had a arrival of migrants in Hodcombe.
