17th March, 2019 Beachy Head Clear, bright and sunny W 6

Still a stiff cold breeze at Birling but at least its not raining. We sea-watched from 06.50-07.40 but very little seen. We then covered Birling lane, Belle Tout wood, Shooters Bottom, Old Trapping Area, Hotel Garden and Icky Ridge. Generally very quiet in the area with a Firecrest in Belle Tout wood, and 3 Chiffchaffs on the Headland.
LP also visited sites on the Headland during the late morning and recorded another Firecrest and Chiffchaff both in Shooters Bottom.

Some late news, 13th March LP had a Wheatear at the Birling water treatment plant. On the 14th and
15th March Chiffchaff in B/T wood. Also RHC has had around 8 Chiffchaffs this year with 2 at the end of February.
