10th March, 2017 Beachy Head. Sea fog cool SE 2-3

With SE winds forecast and a high pressure situated over the UK, I was hopeful for a good sea-watch but so often is the case that a sea fog spoils things. We sat it out between 06.25-07.30 but then the visibility even got worse and therefore we gave up and birded the area visiting Birling lane, Birling loop, Belle Tout wood, Shooters Bottom and the Old Trapping Area. A few migrants were seen in the area with a flock of 25 Meadow Pipits grounded in a grassy field, and a small fall of Chiffchaffs.
