27th November, 2016 Dungeness

We thought we would have a change of scenery today so as the weather looked reasonable we visited the Dungeness area. Our first stop was at the Brett marina where large numbers of Wigeon were present and the Black-throated Diver was showing at close range. As we drove past Scotney the usual flock of feral Barnacle Geese were seen.
We then drove to the main Dungeness Reserve and although we didn't walk around the hides we saw the following:
Cattle Egret 1
Great White Egret 1
Little Egret 2
Ring-necked Duck 1 drake
Long-eared Owl 1
Tree Sparrow 3
Plus large numbers of common duck and hundreds of Lapwings in the air.
A visit to the ARC pit produced a pair of Goosanders.
