With light SE winds, expectations were high but generally only a small arrival of common night migrants with little evidence of continental birds. Blackcap numbers continue to increase in the Hollow, and SL found a Pied Fly and our first Firecrest of the Autumn on his walk above Birling.
After the mist had cleared, a good passage of House Martins, and Swallows with 4 Swifts. Raptors included a Hobby E, Osprey moved S out to sea, a juv. Marsh Harrier and a probable Honey Buzzard but just to far to be certain. Left Simon and Geoff raptor watching, so perhaps more to come.
