4th June, 2016 Beachy Head Overcast and murky, humid NNE 1

After a week of cold strong NE winds, it was a relief to be out birding in almost calm conditions, albeit quite humid. We covered Birling lane, Belle Tout wood, Shooters Bottom, Old Trapping Area, Hotel Garden, Cliff Path and the Rides. Generally the area was very quiet, even the Whitethroats were not to much in evidence and just the breeding Swallows were seen. Two Spotted Flycatchers with 1 in the Old Trapping Area and 1 in the Rides were probably new migrants, and the 4 Blackcaps singing were probably on breeding territory.
