17th May, 2016 Beachy Head Cloudy with early sunny periods. SW 2-3

Another fine warm early morning. We covered most of the sites on the Headland and Bob also covered the Birling loop, and Whitbread Hollow. Very quiet for migrants with 2 Spotted Flycatchers turning up mid-morning. LP and GG were also birding on the Head.
Some late news for yesterday was a male Nighjar seen feeding behind Belle Tout wood by LP at dusk. This is now our 10th record since 1960, the last occurred in 1992, and is also our first for the Spring.
