31st August, 2015 Beachy Head Overcast with periods of heavy rain N 3

We arrived at Birling to a breezy cool overcast day and birded Birling lane and Shooters Bottom before a thunderstorm hit Beachy. Overlooked the Old Trapping Area and with the rain easing made our way to Belle Tout and also walked the Cornish Farm track, before further heavy rain curtailed any further birding and we decided to call it a day. Far fewer migrants present in the bushes and virtually no diurnal migration noted although reasonable numbers of swallows were feeding above Belle Tout. Highlight were 3 Firecrests.
