9th October, 2012 Tuesday Hegura Day 11

Out by 5.30 for the usual walk along the Central Track to the Dragons Pool. Generally a cooler morning although it soon became warm and sunny all day with a S breeze. Probably fewer migrants seen on our early walk and nothing new. After breakfast we covered all the usual sites and also looked at a new woodland walk. Migrants had a Japanese flavour with a female/1st W. Japanese Robin in the woodland walk also a 1stW. male Mugimaki Flycatcher and DC had female Japanese Grey Thrush. On the SW beach a Sakhalin Leaf Warbler arrived in off the sea and gave some good but brief views, also a Japanese Grosbeak was found. Fewer Thrushes and Siskins were on the Island but several more Grey Buntings were seen.
