10th October, 2012 Wednesday Hegura Day 12

Out by 5.30 to a warmer morning with a light E. wind which during the day veered to the SW. Did our usual prebreakfast walk via the Central Track to the Dragons Pool, but only low numbers of migrants seen. Weather became quite hot during the middle part of the day with heavy cloud during the afternoon. Our usual 2.00 pm visit to the drinking pool was well timed as a Japanese Robin showed well and during the afternoon a flock of 35 Pacific Swifts put on a good show. We were able to go up the Tower for scenic views of the Island.
