3rd August, 2011. Old Lodge N.R. Hot & Sunny SE 1

After we visited Beachy and because the weather was hot and sunny we decided to drive directly to Old Lodge and have another look for Black Darter, but again without success. The following were seen:

Several Common Darters

Several Emperors, one of which was lying dead in one of the acid pools and was being fed upon by a water beetle type.

Keeled Skimmer 2

An assortment of Blues & Red Damselflies.

Dead Emperor being eaten by a Great Diving Beetle.
