Queensland, Australia. Nov/Dec. 1994.
After our recent trip report on Western Australia, I have now decided to add our report to Queensland, Australia, but this does not include a full daily trip report.
Doreen and myself visited Queensland from the 3rd November, 1994 to the 12th December,1994. We flew into Cairns and hired a car for the full period. The only accommodation we booked in advance was for 14 nights at Kingfisher Park, which we used as a base to explore this northern area of Queensland, and O'Reilly's in the Lamington Nation Park for 3 nights, otherwise we arranged accommodation en-route. We drove all the way south to Brisbane stopping frequently at birding locations, and I also took a days flight out to Lady Elliott's Island.
The following are some of the views of the areas we visited, and birds etc. we saw during out stay. We flew into Cairns and then spent two weeks birding at a number of sites in northern Queensland. We then started the long drive to Brisbane stopping at various birding sites on the drive, and then spent the remainder of our trip birding at sites in the Brisbane area including O'Reilly nature reserve.
