19th April, 2021 Beachy Head Misty at first becoming fine and sunny. Light and variable wind

Sea-watched from 06.00-09.00: Observers: JFC, AQ. Steady passage for first two hours with the highlights being 1 Arctic Skua and 1 Garganey. 

Gannet c100 E, Brent Goose 35 E, Shelduck 5 E, Gadwall 1 E, Garganey 1 drake E with Scoters,  Common Scoters, 306 E, Oystercatcher 8 E, Turnstone 2 E, Whimbrel 6 E, Arctic Skua 1 d/p E,  Mediterranean Gull 30 E, Black-headed Gull 10 E, Common Gull 6 E, Kittiwake 10 E, Sandwich Tern 73 E., 

We then covered Shooters Bottom meeting up with RB who had covered a number of sites on the Headland. I then had to leave for home. RB also covered Scrub opposite Shooters Bottom, and Birling loop, Small arrival of night migrants, chiefly Willow Warblers, also 2 Common and 1 Black Redstarts, 5 Common Whitethroats, 5 Blackcaps and our first Garden Warbler for the year.
