With the wind now in the S-SE it was surprising how few night migrants were seen and the lack of any meaningful diurnal migration movement. The highlight of the morning was a female type Merlin above Belle Tout wood, and a fine adult male Black Redstart showing briefly in the Hotel Garden and a female at Birling, an Autumn White Wagtail was photographed at Birling, and in the Hollow 6 Lesser Redpolls but only small numbers of Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps were present.
