18th August, 2018 Beachy Head Overcast, cool with rain from early morning. SW 4-5

We only had time to cover Shooters Bottom and the Old Trapping Area before the onset of rain. Sarah, Martin and Bob were ringing in Whitbread Hollow until the rain started.
On the Headland a large clear-out of yesterday's migrants with just a few warblers were seen in the two areas visited. Whitbread Hollow being more sheltered from the wind proved better, with still reasonable numbers of common migrants present.
Combined totals:.

Kestrel 2
Tawny Owl 1 Hollow
Green Woodpecker 1 Hollow
Great-spotted Woodpecker 1 Hollow
Grass-hopper Warbler 2 Hollow
Sedge Warbler 2 Hollow
Reed Warbler 15 (3 Headland and 12 Hollow)
Lesser Whitethroat 1 Headland
Common Whitethroat 10 (6 Headland and 4 Hollow)
Garden Warbler 1 Hollow
Blackcap 10+ Hollow
Chiffchaff 2 Hollow
Willow Warbler 30 (5 Headland and 25 Hollow)
Long-tailed Tit 4 Hollow
