1st January, 2020 Beachy Head Dull, overcast but mild S-SW 1

My first birding since early November due to health problems, also we started our 61st year birding on Beachy Head. Started with a sea-watch from 07.45-09.20 and then covered Birling and Belle Tout wood areas. Highlights were 2 Black-throated Divers and 2 Dartford Warblers.

Red-Throated Diver 38 (30 E, 5 W and 3 on the sea)
Black-throated Diver 2 E ( 1 with 2 Red Throated Divers going E and landed on the sea for around 5 minutes before departing E, & 1 high up going E before landing briefly on the sea before departing E)
Great-crested Grebe 9 (I E and 8 on the sea).
Fulmar 4 E
Gannet 21 E
Cormorant 6 E
Common Scoter 1 E
Curlew 1 W
Black-headed Gull 18 E
Guillemot 4 E
Meadow Pipit 4 in off the sea
Rock Pipit 1 Birling
Stonechat 1 male
Dartford Warbler 2 (a pair)
Jackdaw 200 feeding in set-aside field
Raven 2 Birling
