LP covered Birling area, Belle Tout wood and the Old Trapping Area. RB covered Shooters Bottom and Birling lane. RAB covered Holywell, Radio mast bushes, Cliff Path, Icky Ridge and the Hotel Garden.
Highlight was a R/T Hen Harrier which was first seen over B/T and then departed out to sea off Icky Ridge. Otherwise still 3 Black Redstarts, 1 Firecrest and the 2 Ring Ouzels still present in Shooters Bottom. A good easterly movement with an exceptional movement of 37 Mistle Thrushes with 8 N over the Radio mast bushes, followed by 29 E off Icky Ridge.

30th October, 2019 Light cloud becoming fine and sunny. ESE 5-6
LP visited Birling and the Belle Tout area, and RE also visited Birling Area and Shooters Bottom in a brief visit. RAB covered Holywell, Birling lane, Belle Tout wood, and Shooters Bottom. Fewer migrants now in the bushes with 3 Black Redstarts, 2 Firecrests and at least 1 Ring Ouzel still present in Shooters Bottom. 8 Barnacle Geese E past Birling.
Barnacle Geese 8E off Birling (RE) ( Our 7th Record since 1960 and the largest party, possibility of feral birds cannot be ruled out).
