17th June, 2019 Ditchling Common

Paid a brief visit to Ditchling Common this morning mainly to have a look for Black Hairstreaks. We found about 5 mostly flying around the Blackthorn bushes but one showed well low down. Also 1 Red Admiral, and several Meadow Browns.
Checked the lake area and the usual Black-tailed Skimmer was showing along the pathway also a mating pair of Emperor Dragonflies plus the usual Damselflies.
A couple of Garden Warblers were singing also 1 Lesser Whitethroat.
