26th March, 2019 Beachy Head and Cuckmere Early frost, long sunny periods NNW 1-2

After a very brief sea-watch with virtually nothing recorded, we visited Radio mast bushes, Icky Ridge, Hotel Garden, Old Trapping Area, Shooters Bottom, and Belle Tout wood.
Very few migrants seen which included a fine Black Redstart sat on the B.H pub roof, and a  White Wagtail feeding on short grass near the Belle Tout lighthouse.

Decided to visit the upper portion of the Cuckmere valley as we haven't yet seen the Glossy Ibis which has been present for several weeks. RE reported it yesterday, and that it was present opposite the main entrance to the Friston Forest car part on the Litlington Road. As it was now very sunny I decided to look for it with the sun on my back and soon located it some distance from me. I was able to photograph it from this distance. On our way home, we had a short stop to look for the pair of Garganeys which were present yesterday, but no joy here.

With the sun on my back this was beginning to bring
out some of the glossy tones.
