3rd August, 2016 Minsmere Overcast with rain becoming brighter

Decided to twitch the adult Western Purple Swamphen (not only a UK tick but a World tick for me) with Doreen and Richard and we also met up with Terry, Owen, Jake and Franco. Luckily the Swamphen showed well but always at a distance but with excellent scope views. It once flew quite a way. Didn't have a lot of time to visit many other sites and we recorded the following:

Western Purple Swamphen 1 (First for the UK if accepted)
Stone Curlew 5
Black-tailed Godwit c20
Little Gull 8
Avocet 10
Hundreds of Sand Martins

Grayling Butterfly 1(first I have seen for about 30 years)
