15th April, 2016 Beachy Head Overcast cool with heavy rain from mid-morning SW 3-4

We sea-watched from 06.30-08.00 which was very quiet, and we then covered the Old Trapping Area, Hotel Garden, Icky Ridge, Shooters Bottom.We then received a call from Bob Edgar who informed us that Laurence Pitcher had found a grey tristis Chiffchaff type and we quickly joined them and after 20 minutes it showed well on the eastern side of the wood. Otherwise just a few Willow Warblers were seen.

Siberian (Eastern) Chiffchaff type by Belle Tout wood

Found by LP and showed well. Perhaps lacking some nicotine 

colour on the ear-coverts and the bill on a tristis often appears

fine with an upturned appearance.
