5th February, 2016 Beachy Head and Pett Level Overcast with drizzle cool SW 4-5

We sea-watched from 07.30-08.30. but again little movement recorded.

Red-throated Diver 3 E
Shelduck 4 W
Common Scoter 1 W
Mediterranean Gull 1 E
Auk Sp. 5 E

With the weather closing in we decided to visit Pett Level to try to photograph the long-staying Glossy Ibis.
We arrived with no other birders present and we soon located the Glossy Ibis feeding close to the road at the eastern end of the roadside pools. It was fortunate to have it to ourselves at close range although it did fly a couple of times due to heavy fast traffic along the road. Also 4 Brent Geese, 400 Golden Plovers with hundreds of Lapwing plus the usual ducks.

Glossy Ibis at Pett Level. Looking darker with more gloss
then when we saw it in December.
