23rd January, 2016 Beachy Head and Newhaven Overcast very mild with poor visibility out to sea. SW 1-2

Stopped briefly in the Cuckmere Valley to check the flooded area and a Water Rail showed well on the edge of a reed-bed.

A short sea-watch from 09.00-09.30 was unproductive. so we then walked the Cornish Farm rough field and Belle Tout wood, meeting up with CB who had seen a Firecrest in the scrub near Belle Tout.
