21st March, 2015 Newhaven, Beachy and Cuckmere Valley

We first stopped off at the Ouse Estuary Project at Denton where the Richards Pipit gave good scope views for around 30 minutes also 3 Bearded Tits in the reed-bed, 110 Redwings, 1 Fieldfare and c20 Song Thrushes feeding in the fields.

Richards Pipit digiscoped by David Cooper on the 14th.
(Sadly it was taken by a Sparrowhawk after we had left).

Moving onto Beachy Head, c100 Meadow Pipits and 2 Alba Wagtails came in and moved N and a flock of 28 Chaffinches high E. Migrants few and far between with 2x 1stW male Black Redstarts and 2 Chiffchaffs.

Beachy's first big twitch of this year!!

We then stopped on our way home in the Cuckmere Valley and joined RJF and JK who were watching a pair of Garganey just north of the reed-bed although the views were fairly distant also a pair of Egyptian Geese with 5 young goslings.
