14th December, 2013 Princes Park, West Rise Marsh, Exceat, and Newhaven Harbour.

On our way to Princes Park, we drove over Beachy Head and 5 Stonechats were seen along the road verge between Birling Sewage Farm and Birling Gap. The Black-throated Diver was again showing well at Princes Park. Reasonable numbers of duck were seen at West Rise which included a drake Pintail and a drake Smew.

A good flock of large gulls were roosting in the fields by Exceat Bridge, probably in the region of 500 to 700 Lesser-black back Gulls, and 1 1st W Caspian Gull. A quick check at Newhaven Harbour produced 6 Eiders.
