8th July, 2013 Old Lodge Nature Reserve, Ashdown Forest

Visit to the Old Lodge Nature Reserve this morning in hot but quite windy conditions. Very few birds seen with 1 Redstart, pair of Stonechats and 1 Buzzard.
Fair numbers of dragonflies were seen, but unfortunately no sign of any Black Darters yet.


Female Emperor Dragonfly - At least 7 Emperors were seen.


Large Red Damselfly - Good numbers present.



Male Broad-bodied Chaser - At least 6 seen



Common Darter - Just the one.




Male Keeled Skimmer - Just one seen

 

Male Azure Damselflies - good numbers present.
