We visited Southwater woods on the 15th hoping for butterflies and on the 16th to Old Lodge for Black Darter. Southwater woods was somewhat disappointing with no Purple Emperors seen whilst we were there and only small numbers of Silver-washed Fritillaries and White Admirals with less of 10 of each.
At the Old Lodge, we only had time for a brief visit to the acid pools and once again no sign of Black Darters and generally few dragons were seen.
