9th February, 2013 Pett Level, Castle Water, Rye Harbour, Scotney & and Walland Marsh

Brief visit to Pett Level in the early morning and returned in late afternoon:

200+ Great-crested Grebes on the sea.
40 Red-throated Divers
15 Common Scoters
1 Marsh Harrier
3-4 Barn Owls
20 Brent Geese
4 Pink-feet
c40 White-fronted Geese
15 Brent Geese

We then walked around Castle Water but generally very quiet with just the usual waterfowl etc:

3 Marsh Harriers
2 Pintail
2 Mistle Thrushes

Brief visit to RyeHarbour, no sign of any Great White Egrets highlight being 3 Grey Partridges.

Onto Scotney with good numbers of wildfowl:

31 White-fronted Geese
5 Superb Bean Geese showing very well
1 female Scaup
with 30+ of the usual Barnacle Geese

Drove out to Walland Marsh:
1 Black Swan
2 Whooper Swans
c200 Berwick's Swans
1 Merlin
Good numbers of Fieldfares
