Doreen and myself first visited Castle Water and spent a couple of hours in the hide:
Avocet 2
Common Snipe 7
Marsh Harrier 1
Bittern 1
Pintail 10
Plus the common duck & Grey-lags etc.
Onto Scotney:
50 Barnacles with usual hybrids
30 White-fronted Geese
and finally Dungeness:
5 Smew
2 Marsh Harriers
6 Tree Sparrows
1 Great White Egret
4 Hares were seen on our walk over to Castle Water
7 Snipe showed well in front of the hide
A Bittern walked out in front of the hide on Castle Water
Two Avocets flew around Castle Water
At Scotney 50 Barnacles with the usual hybrids
30 Whitefronts flew around Scotney
A Marsh Harrier came over us at Dungeness
As we were about to leave Dungeness the Great White Egret put in an appearance.
