19th September,2011 Arlington Reservoir etc.

THE BURGH HARRIER:
Since my posting on yesterday's blog, further pictures have been posted on the web-sites and Dorian has kindly sent me two photographs which he has taken, and these pictures clearly show a pale collar, which we just couldn't see from the distance we were watching it from. This does clearly illustrate the advantage of digital photography and also congratulate the photographers and original finders in the identification of this superb juvenile Pallid Harrier.

As we were leaving Beachy this morning, we had a Hobby fly directly over our car as we headed down towards the Cuckmere.

We paid a visit to Arlington Reservoir and saw the 2 Little Stints which were feeding very close to the water tower on the damn and both birds gave excellent views. We didn't spend long looking at the Reservoir, but did also see 2 Common Sandpipers.
