6th March, 2011. Storrington & Pulborough Brooks.

First stopped just to the east of Storrington and re-located the 2 Common Cranes feeding in the back of one of the fields. Unfortunately, the birds were flushed by a bird scarer and flew off high to the SW. We then visited Pulborough Brooks to look at the reported Greenland Whitefronted Goose from the Hanger viewpoint. It was very distant, and although the bill often looked orange, at other times it appeared to have a pinkish hue. At one time it flapped its wings and showed a broad white tail band which would suggest a European Whitefront. Still good numbers of common ducks.
